Covid vaccines for careworkers at Welcombe Care
News about the vaccination of homecare workers have been announced and the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) was published by NHS England on Thursday 14 January. A few areas are ahead of the game and have already booked staff for their vaccines. Here are UKHCA members Welcombe Care in Warwickshire getting theirs last week:

Office staff at Carewatch Isle of Wight have developed a new way for careworkers to collect PPE and Covid tests without having to come into the building:

Careworker Beverley enjoyed a virtual ‘Carols by Candlelight’ with her client with the candle holders they made together.
It may be the middle of January but there were so many good news stories from Christmas that we haven’t been able to fit in so far that we had to add them below. Thanks again to all our members for their efforts over the festive period.
Bluebird Exeter careworkers give up Christmas Day to provide meals to isolated clients
Over 750 gifts for hospital patients from Home Instead Liverpool
Over 750 presents made up of gifts, letters and handmade crafts were collected and distributed by Home Instead Liverpool.
All were distributed amongst elderly patients at The Royal, Broadgreen and Aintree Hospitals who wouldn’t have otherwise received anything.
Caremark Kirklees careworkers distribute Christmas gifts to clients
Donations to care home from Kare Plus Croydon careworkers
Careworkers from Kare Plus organised pupils from Ashton House school to create Christmas cards and gifts for the residents of a local care home.
SureCare Central Cheshire support the Wishing Well Project
SureCare Central Cheshire donated over 100 Christmas gifts for older people in the region. The gifts were distributed by the Wishing Well Project.
